Baptist Transitional Year
Transitional Year Website
Baptist Radiology features a guaranteed (but optional) Transitional Year with the Baptist DeSoto Family Medicine program for matched radiology applicants. While residents are free to pursue any internship of their choice, the Transitional Year at Baptist DeSoto offers a well-balanced, career focused training opportunity that is located less than 25 minutes from the main Baptist Memphis hospital where the majority of our radiology residency training takes place. The Transitional Year features 6 months of electives which includes 2 months rotating with the radiology department at DeSoto. During these radiology elective months, rotating interns will function as R1s by working with our radiology residents and attendings, reading studies, performing fluoroscopy, and participating in smaller procedures.
Currently, applicants who interview with Baptist Radiology will not have to undergo a separate interview process for the Transitional Year. They will simply have to attend a virtual Town Hall meeting with the Baptist Family Medicine/TY program. If there are any specific questions regarding the Transitional Year, feel free to contact the Transitional Year Program Coordinator, Lacey Coats ([email protected]), or Program Director, Dan Hogue ([email protected]).
