Why did you choose Baptist?
I chose Baptist because I would like to go into private practice after finishing residency. Out of all the places I interviewed, I felt that Baptist was going to be able to prepare me more so thanothers. There is great opportunity for moonlighting here as well as a high volume of studies.

What is your day like? Any challenges? What's rewarding about your day?
So far my day to day has been very busy. I try and see as many different cases as I can in order to familiarize myself with all the different modalities and types of studies. After work I try and study at least an hour a day when I can. Honestly, getting to finally practice Radiology is enough reward for me right now. Every now and then you get something right starting out. That's always a good feeling.

What is your favorite thing about Memphis?
There's a good bit to do here whether you want to see live music, go out to dinner, be outdoors, etc. I think if you're creative enough, you can't possibly get bored here. It's a big city with a smaller city vibe to it which is nice.

What made you decide on your career? Was there someone or something in your life that helped you choose your path?
I don't have a huge life changing event that made me choose medicine. I've always found science and anatomy really interesting so radiology made sense for me as I was going through medical school.

Why would you recommend Baptist to a prospective applicant?
Baptist isn't a university hospital, but that doesn't mean that you aren't going to get taught by great educators. So far every attending that I've met has gone well out of their way to teach. It's been a great environment for learning without the feel of a large academic center.
